Job Summary:

As FC Dallas’ Digital and Social Media Manager, you will lead a team of content creators and drive the growth of the club’s (and its affiliated properties) digital and social media initiatives through a variety of outlets. This includes, but is not limited to, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, FCDallas.com, NorthTexasSC.com, ToyotaStadium.com and email content associated with all FC Dallas properties. 

This ideal candidate is a self-starter with a growth mindset who is passionate about social media, digital media and multimedia storytelling. Success in this position will come from a combination of being hyper-organized but mindful enough to quick-turn a funny social media snackable when the moment arises. 

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently brainstorm creative, forward-thinking digital and social media content ideas to highlight the FC Dallas brand and maximize revenue opportunities
  • Lead day-to-day execution of social media posts and oversee maintenance the social media calendar with promotional posts, historical content and organizational needs 
  • Full understanding of each social media platform and its capabilities while constantly looking for emerging platforms 
  • Collaborate with internal content and creative teams to strategize and develop engaging social media content from concept to execution  
  • Forge strong relationships with staff and players to create dynamic content and serve as the voice of the organization 
  • Oversee production of social media content that creatively delivers team news and covers at least 34 MLS games per year, USL League One matches, the National Soccer Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, community events and other events as assigned 
  • Collaborate with MLS and other FC Dallas departments such as Partnership Marketing, Ticketing and Community Relations on digital and social media campaigns  
  • Proactively monitor social media from a guest service perspective and respond to customer service inquiries and keep track of influencers 
  • Create and present weekly social and digital media analytics reports to measure effectiveness
  • Supervise Social Media Coordinator, Digital Content Coordinator, FCDallas.com writers and oversee video production in collaboration with Multimedia Manager and videographer 
  • This position reports to the Vice President of Media and Communications
  • Other duties as necessary  

Skills & Experience

Requirements:

  • Three to five years of digital media and social media experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Social Media, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing and/or related background 
  • Proven track record of maintaining a social and digital media presence for a sports team or major brand  
  • Strong research and analytical skills will an ability to convert research into actionable social strategy 
  • Video editing skills
  • Experienced in Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft applications 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task 
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills 
  • Impeccable grammar and copywriting ability 
  • Ability to collaborate on projects with multiple departments 
  • Knowledge of MLS, Soccer and FC Dallas preferred 
  • Commitment to work holidays, evenings, and weekends in addition to the scheduled work week of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • Written and oral proficiency in Spanish preferred
